We are delighted to announce the launch of PopData's Metadata Central, an online data documentation system for our Research and Data Steward communities.
Metadata Central allows users to learn about and explore our data holdings in a much more comprehensive way than ever before. Prior to applying for data users will now be able to:
- Develop a greater understanding of the range of data available and how it may be leveraged to answer specific research questions
- Become familiar with the code values and basic summary statistics associated with fields of interest
- Explore changes to fields available for request over time
As of September 1, 2015 the BC Cancer Agency, Human Early Learning Partnership EDI, BC Ministry of Health and BC Vital Statistics Agency file and field level summaries may be explored online. Researchers or project team members currently at any stage of the data application process with PopData may now request access to Metadata Central. Current users of our Secure Research Environment (SRE) have automatic access to the system (click on the my.popdata link at the top right of this page, log in and the Metadata Central tab will appear in the navigation bar).
