The Income Band data file consists of 1000 income bands of data summarizing equivalised disposable income, derived from Statistics Canada tax-filer data prepared for the years 1992, 2002, and 2006.

Geography โ€“ Income Band Number

Note: Researchers are provided with Income Band Number in order to associate Income Band data with project-specific Study IDs. Population Data BC uses 6-character postal codes to make this association however researchers DO NOT receive 6-character postal codes as part of their extracts. If you require 6-character postal code as part of your study, you must specifically request it (see below).

Note: 6-character postal codes are NOT required for linkage to project-specific Study IDs (see above). However, if you are requesting 6-character postal codes to make this linkage, ensure that you have requested to receive them in another file for your study population (e.g., Consolidation File).
